The teacher I work with brought in a great new book the other day to school. It is called "The Old Woman Who Named Things" by Cynthia Rylant. She is the author of the Henry and Mudge books. This was a real cute story about an old woman who outlived all of her friends. She didnt make any new ones because she was so sad when everyone else died. That is why she named everything. One day a puppy comes to her gate. She tells it to go away, but she feeds it first. It comes every day and she does the same thing, but never names it. Then one day the dog doesn't show up and she is very worried and sad. I won't tell you any more of the story-- you should read it to find out what happens next!
I hope everyone has a great Spring Break!

Wendy
